Coaches observation of tournament.

This weekend was a true ice breaker for our team with a few practices under our belt. I thought we swung the bat pretty well with 24 hits on the weekend and out hitting 3 of the 4 teams we played. Base running has progressed but pitch angle and jumps/ secondary leads need work. Pitchers faired pretty good and kept us in every game except our final match where walks ultimately opened the door for big hits and big innings from our opponent. Walks was our biggest issue. Defensively we made some really great plays. We also missed some routine plays due to us being out of position. Situation awareness is something we need to heavily concentrate on. All in all it was a pretty good start!!
